Psychotherapy

Translation:

The Psychotherapeutic Institute Bergerhausen (PIB) was founded in Duisburg in 1973 by Hans-Werner Gessmann and takes its name from the Wasserburg Bergerhausen in Kerpen near Cologne, where it maintained a stationary therapy facility for female adolescents for over 12 years.

At the Duisburg office, doctors, psychologists, psychotherapists, pedagogues as well as administrative employees and technical staff worked in a psychotherapeutic and sleep medicine outpatient clinic in the 90s. At the same time, several hundred specialists were trained in Humanistic Psychodrama and Systemic Family Therapy. In 2018, the PIB and its corporate office moved to Hamburg.

The PIB is one of the oldest private institutions in Germany, which conducts specialized training in psychosocial fields. The Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia has recognized the training institute on behalf of the psychotherapeutic-healing activity of graduate psychologists. The Landesprüfungsamt für Medizin und Pharmazie NRW recognizes the completion of clinical electives as part of medical studies. The seminars in Hamburg are certified by the local Medical Counsil (and thus also by the Psychotherapists Chamber). The Institute is a member of national and international trade associations. Since fall 2018, the Executive Education - Humanistic Psychodrama is also internationally accredited by the IAC.

Since 2017, Psychotherapeutic Consultation and Supervision with Prof. Dr. med. Gessmann have been taking place in Aichach near Augsburg. You can order books published by PIB through wholesale channels.
